I guess some-how my turning off the laptop (Acer Extensa 5220) set the Bios settings back to "factory-settings" God just inspired me that this might have happend, I turned it back And it did!! Also, I ran a very long defrag in safe mode without any errors followed by an uneventful scandisk.The PC is a Compaq Notebook, Win XP, 1GB Ram.Any ideas??ThanksJoe P · actions Thanks!
